Walking Your Dog in Public Politely

**Dog Training Tips**

While training your dog to not jump up excitedly, or if your dog gets nervous, it’s a good idea to put yourself between your dog and the “object of desire/concern” (i.e. strollers, joggers, squirrels, trash, goose poop, etc…). You can do this by moving your dog from one side of your body to the other by transferring the leash from one hand to the other behind your back per the video.

Once your pooch has perfected the “off” command and walks politely and calmly, you no longer have to switch sides!

Also, notice how the owner is walking his pup with confidence (shoulders straight, chin up, etc.) which gives the pup security and trust in his leadership.

Enjoy this simple, but effective tip!
